How to get from the airport to St. Vlas
Sveti Vlas does not have a direct bus connection to any airport in Bulgaria. The nearest airport to Saint Vlas is Burgas Airport, which is 36 km away.

Travel by public transport is paid in cash directly to the driver.

To get from Burgas Airport to Sveti Vlas by bus: 

The travel time, considering transfers and expectations, is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, with the fare being 8 BGN per person. The journey is divided into two stages:

  1. Burgas Airport to Sunny Beach / Nesebar
  2. Sunny Beach / Nesebar to Saint Vlas

To get started, exit the airport building and head to the public transportation stop along the route mentioned below.

You will wait for bus number 10 or number 11 and ride to the final stop. The final stop will depend on the chosen route:

  • Avtogara (bus station) Sunny Beach – bus number 10
  • Old Nesebar – bus number 11

The buses run at intervals of 20-40 minutes, with a fare of 6 BGN. Upon arrival at the final stop, transfer to city buses number 5 or 8. The fare is 2 BGN per person, and these buses will take you to Saint Vlas.


Public transport departure times are valid during the summer season JUNE - SEPTEMBER.

Route 5 is one of the most popular and convenient buses in the resort. The route runs along the coast from Nessebar to St. Vlas. The bus has two final stops - the old town of Nessebar and the town of Sveti Vlas near the resort complexes Dinevi and Eden Garden. This route also has a transfer stop - the bus station at Sunny Beach.

Elenite is located 25 minutes by car from Nessebar (15 km), 10 minutes by car to Sunny Beach resort (10.5 km), and 5 minutes from the center of St. Vlas (5.5 km), 1.5 km from our resort, FORT NOKS GRAND RESORT. Every hour (from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.) there is a bus from Elenite to Nessebar (ticket: 2 leva to St. Vlas, 3 to Sunny Beach, and 4 to Nessebar), with departures every 40 minutes (from 9 a.m. to midnight).

There is also a boat service from Paradise Beach to Nessebar, running twice a day, with a ticket costing 30 leva (round trip), and free for children.

To get from Varna Airport to St. Vlas by bus, you can follow these steps: 

The journey from Varna Airport to St. Vlas by public transport is divided into three stages, with an estimated travel time of over three hours and a cost of approximately 15 BGN per person. Here's how the journey is structured:

  1. Varna Airport to Varna City:

    • Take bus number 409 from Varna Airport to the Varna Central Bus Station. This part of the journey usually takes around 30-40 minutes.

  2. Varna to Sunny Beach:

    • From Varna Central Bus Station, take an intercity bus to Sunny Beach (Slnečné pobrežie). This bus service is available only during the summer season, and it typically takes about 1.5 hours to reach Sunny Beach. You can check the current schedule on the bus station's website.

  3. Sunny Beach to St. Vlas:

    • Once you arrive at Sunny Beach Bus Station, transfer to bus number 5 or 8, which will take you directly to the St. Vlas bus stop. This last leg of the journey takes around 20-30 minutes.

This transfer option is ideal for those traveling during the summer season when the buses are available. It's also a cost-effective way to reach St. Vlas, though it can be time-consuming compared to other options like a private transfer.

How to get by bus from Sofia to St. Vlas 

A direct bus operates from the main station of the capital city Sofia to the resort of Saint Vlas. The fare is 32 - 40 leva per person, depending on the transport company. The travel time is just over 7 hours.

The buses are comfortable with luggage space. There are night rides with early morning arrivals and daytime rides with evening arrivals. The destination stop is the central square of Saint Vlas.
